Roll Out Sugar Cookies 

The holiday season is almost here. And I will be sharing new cookie recipes ever week until Christmas is here. We are going to have the best time making and decorating Christmas cookies! This is my go-to roll out sugar cookie recipe. It bakes so perfectly and the best part is, you don’t have to chill the dough before baking. Saves half the time! 



Roll Out Sugar Cookies 


Preparation Time 20 minutes 

Bake Time 12 minutes 

Yields 36 4 inch cookies 


Ingredients 


1 cup butter- room temperature 

1 cup sugar 

1 egg - room temperature

2 teaspoon vanilla 

1/2 teaspoon almond extract 

3 1/4 cup flour 

1 teaspoon baking powder 

1/2 teaspoon salt 




Instructions 


  1. Preheat the oven to 180c. Line 2 baking sheets with parchment paper. Set them aside. 

  2. Beat the butter and sugar for 3-4 minutes until light and creamy. Add the egg, vanilla and almond extract. Scrape down the sides of the bowl and mix well. 

  3. Add the dry ingredients and mix it in until just combined. 

  4. Do not chill the dough. Divide the dough into 2 batches. Roll out the dough to 1/8 inch thickness. 

  5. Place the cookies on lined baking sheets 2 inches apart. 

  6. Bake at 180c for 8-11 minutes until light golden around the edges. 

  7. Remove them from the oven and cool completely before moving them.
