Nutella Christmas Tree

The upcoming holiday season means lots of delicious treats and sweets. This is a delicious addition to the dessert list. This recipe comes together in 10 minutes and is perfect for sharing. Serve with a hot chocolate dip and you are good to go.






Preparation Time 10 minutes

Cook Time 15-20 minutes

Serves 4


Ingredients


250 grams puff pastry/ 2 sheets pre rolled puff pastry

50-100 grams nutella

1 egg plus 2 tablespoons milk





Instructions


  1. Roll out the puff pastry until 1/4 inch thick.

  2. Cut into 2 large rectangles and trim away the excess.

  3. Place on sheet on top of the other and cut the sheets into a tree shape.

  4. Separate the puff pastry sheets. Spread Nutella onto one of the sheets.

  5. Place the other sheet on top.

  6. Make slits 1 cm apart, keeping the trunk in tact.

  7. Twist the branches twice and press the edges down into the baking sheet to keep them in place.

  8. Brush the top of the tree with the egg wash.

  9. Bake at 220c for 15-20 minutes until puffed up and golden brown on top.

  10. Dust with icing sugar.



Notes


Change up the filling. You can use: lemon curd, jam, or even cinnamon sugar.
