As I mentioned in my last couple of posts, I have decided to start a new series called Pantry Basics, and I think homemade mayonnaise is definitely one of those recipes we have to add to the list. Once you make it yourself, you will never buy it from the store again. The best part of homemade mayonnaise is that we usually have all the ingredients in our pantries already and it only takes a minute to whip it up!

Preparation Time 3 minutes
Serves 12
Ingredients
1 egg- whole- room temperature
1/2 tablespoon fresh lemon juice
1/4 teaspoon dijon mustard
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup neutral oil
1 teaspoon vinegar
Instructions
Place the egg, lemon juice, vinegar, salt and oil in a jar/ container. Blend the mayonnaise for 10-15 seconds without moving the immersion blender stick until it begins to thicken.
Once it begins to thicken, move the stick around to fully combine all the ingredients.
Mix it through then store the mayonnaise in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days.
