So I was making Beijing Beef yesterday and while I was setting up the ingredients, I realised I didn’t have any hoisin sauce! I literally had no option but to make my own, so off to the kitchen I went and whipped this homemade hoisin sauce in no time!Â
Preparation Time 2 minutesÂ
Yields 1/2 cupÂ
IngredientsÂ
1/4 cup soy sauceÂ
2 tablespoons smooth peanut butterÂ
1 tablespoon honeyÂ
2 teaspoon honeyÂ
2 teaspoon sesame oilÂ
1 love garlic- mincedÂ
1/8 teaspoon black pepperÂ
1 teaspoon Thai chilli sauce plus 1/4 teaspoon five spice powderÂ
(OR 1 teaspoon miso paste, OR 1/2 teaspoon fermented bean paste, OR 1/2 teaspoon gochujang plus 1/4 teaspoon five spice powder)
InstructionsÂ
Combine all the ingredients in bowl and mix it in until smooth.Â
Store the sauce in an airtight container or jar in the fridge for up to 1 month. Â
