This Power Packed Date and Nut Smoothie is a nutritious and delicious way to fuel your family during the winter months. The nuts and dried fruit make it perfect for kids, the elderly, pregnant and breastfeeding mothers. This smoothie is filled with all the necessary nutrients needed to keep you and your family fit and healthy.

Serves 2-3
Ingredients
5-6 dates- pitted
2 tablespoons each of: almonds, pistachios, sultanas and cashews
2 cups milk
1 Tablespoon honey
Instructions
Combine the almonds, pistachios, sultanas and cashews in a bowl.
Pour over enough boiling water to cover and allow to sit for 10 minutes. This will help soften the fruits, releasing more nutrients and flavour.
Drain the fruits, and add them to a blender, along with the milk, pitted dates and honey. The honey is optional, because the fruit itself is so sweet.
Blend for 2 minutes until smooth.
Add a handful of ice, if desired.
Pour into glasses and top with additional nuts and seeds.
