IngredientsÂ
1/2 cup butter- soft to pokeÂ
1/2 cup light brown sugarÂ
1/3 cup sugarÂ
1 egg - room temperature
1 teaspoon vanillaÂ
1 1/2 cups flourÂ
1/4 teaspoon saltÂ
1/2 teaspoon baking sodaÂ
1 cup chocolate chips- additional for topping laterÂ
Instructions
Preheat the oven to 175c. Line 2 baking trays with parchment paper. Set them aside.Â
Beat the butter and sugars together on a high speed for 3-4 minutes. Add the egg and vanilla.
Add the flour, baking soda and salt. Mix it in with a spatula until almost combined. A few pockets of dry flour will remain. Fold in the chocolate chips.Â
Roll the dough into golf ball sized dough balls. Place them on the line baking sheet 2 inches apart. DO NOT PRESS THEM DOWN.Â
Bake the cookies at 175c for 8-10 minutes. They will be soft when they come out the oven but the edges will be golden. Top with additional chocolate chips.Â
